Jessi Realz (she/her) is a Chicago based comedian, actor, writer, director, and producer. Jessi’s performer credits include stand up, video sketches, web series, various stage sketch shows, film festivals throughout the year, and a CSBF dance performer. She has traveled the country to teach artistic workshops and perform in stages like Steppenwolf, The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Impro Theatre, the Laugh Factory, Just the Funny, The Hideout, Georgetown University, and Su Teatro; among many others. Born and raised in Mexico City, Jessi uses her rich Mexican background as a source for inspiration when creating characters, stories, stand up, and original sketch and web pieces. Jessi is the co-founder and artistic creative force behind Las Tinas, Ratas de Dos Patas, and Tus Tías. Las Tinas has been featured in Telemundo and the Chicago Tribune. Ratas de Dos Patas has been featured in TimeOut Chicago and won ALTA’s 2019 Outstanding Improv Ensemble. And Tus Tías were selected to be 2022 Latinx Theater Commons Comedy Carnaval featured artists. Jessi has produced variety comedy shows all over Chicago that focus on highlighting BIPOC, LBGTQIA+, disabled, and underrepresented artists. Jessi believes that building shows for minority and diverse talent is important for the growth and advancement of art as a whole.
